The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara State on Monday organised special prayers for Senator Saliu Mustapha the senator representing Kwara Central, in appreciation of his continuous support for the Christian community.
The prayers took place during CAN’s Easter Picnic Programme held at Budo Jesu in Ilorin, where Christian faithful gathered to celebrate the Easter season and acknowledge individuals who have contributed to the growth and welfare of the community.
Speaking at the event, the Kwara State Chairman of CAN, Sunday Timothy Adewole, commended the senator for his consistent goodwill and commitment to religious harmony in the state. According to him, Mustapha supported the Easter celebration by providing hundreds of packs of customised table water, drinks and fuel for transportation, describing the gesture as timely and impactful despite the senator being a Muslim.
During the programme, the founder of Resolution Church of Christ, M. S. Olobatoke, led prayers for divine protection, prosperity and greater elevation for the lawmaker and other contributors. Other individuals recognised and prayed for at the event included Oluwole Awotuyi of Tuyil Pharmaceuticals, Olatunde Oladokun of SEAP Holdings Company Ltd and Saka Eletu, while Mustapha, who chairs the Senate Committee on Agricultural Production Services and Rural Development, is widely regarded as a strong contender in the 2027 governorship race in the state.
