IEPAC Endorses Tinubu, Saliu Mustapha for 2027, Seeks Kwara Central’s Political Pre-eminence

The Ilorin Emirate Political Advisory Council (IEPAC) has declared its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections, endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and backing Senator Saliu Mustapha for the Kwara State governorship.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press briefing held at Noktel Hotel, GRA, Ilorin.

In a statement jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji (Dr.) Yakub Yahaya Oloriegbe, and National Secretary, Lt. Col. Abubakar Edun (rtd), the council said its endorsement of Tinubu followed a review of his administration’s performance over the past three years.

IEPAC noted that the President has provided significant support and opportunities to Kwara Central Senatorial District, adding that he deserves another term to consolidate on existing achievements.

The council also threw its weight behind the governorship aspiration of Senator Saliu Mustapha, describing him as widely acceptable and possessing the experience, maturity, and capacity required to lead the state effectively.

According to IEPAC, Mustapha’s leadership qualities and exposure position him to govern with fairness, competence, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The council reiterated its resolve to mobilise votes within the Ilorin Emirate in support of political platforms that recognise what it described as the rightful place of Kwara Central in the state’s political arrangement.

It called on political actors across parties to align with its position in the interest of unity, stability, and continued development in Kwara State.

IEPAC further emphasised that the Ilorin Emirate remains inclusive and accommodating, irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliations, while maintaining that Kwara Central should continue to play a leading role in the state’s political structure.

The council added that it would continue to monitor political developments and, at the appropriate time, extend support to other aspirants seeking elective offices who are capable of sustaining and building on the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
