Kwara North Rallies Behind Saliu Mustapha as Tsaragi Hosts Thanksgiving Prayer
A wave of dedication swept through Tsaragi in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State on Sunday as indigenes gathered for a grand thanksgiving and special prayer session in honour of Senator Saliu Mustapha.
The event, organised by Tsaragi Youth in Politics (TYIP), was held to celebrate the senator’s recent conferment of the traditional title Tabariki’n Nupe by the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, while also seeking divine guidance for his anticipated governorship ambition in Kwara State.
The prayer session, which took place at Emi Ndamagbo House—the residence of the Vice Chairman of the Tsaragi Traditional Council—drew a large crowd of religious leaders, community stakeholders, youths, and political supporters from across the emirate.
In a rare show of unity, all Imams within the Tsaragi Emirate attended the gathering, forming a strong spiritual presence. The Council of Imams, led by the Naibi Imam and acting Chief Imam of the emirate, Sheikh Ndagi Almiskeen, offered prayers for the senator, asking Allah to grant him wisdom, protection, and success in his endeavours.
They also prayed for peace, stability, and development across the Nupe Kingdom and Kwara State, stressing the importance of selfless and people-centred leadership.
The atmosphere grew emotional as several beneficiaries of Mustapha’s empowerment programmes shared testimonies of how his interventions had impacted their lives. From scholarships to business support and community projects, speakers recounted stories of transformation and renewed hope.
Many of them described the lawmaker as a compassionate leader whose initiatives have brought tangible benefits to the people, especially at the grassroots level.
In separate remarks, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude and offered prayers for his continued success, voicing strong support for his political aspirations and hoping he would emerge victorious in the state’s future governorship race.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Abubakar Adam said the thanksgiving was not only an expression of gratitude to God for the honour bestowed on the senator but also a reflection of the people’s confidence in his leadership.
They noted that the title Tabariki’n Nupe symbolises recognition of Mustapha’s contributions to societal development, particularly within the Nupe community.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising grassroots support for the senator, adding that the massive turnout at the event underscored a shared belief in his vision for inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
The programme ended with collective prayers for unity and progress, leaving participants with renewed optimism about the future of Kwara State politics.
