
FARMER GOV BAGO MOURNS ACE BROADCASTER ALH. IBRAHIM AHMED.
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago mourns the death of former General Manager of Radio Niger, Minna and former chairman, Board of Niger State Media Corporation, Alh. Ibrahim Ahmed.
In a condolence message on Wednesday through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Farmer Governor extends his condolences to the family of the deceased and the leadership as well as members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He describes the deceased as an ace broadcaster who has made a milestone impact on both state and national broadcasting stations.
The Farmer Governor recounts the selfless sacrifices and contributions of Alh. Ahmed to the growth and development of broadcasting industry in the state, northern region, and Nigeria as awhole .
He maintains that the broadcasting family has truly lost an experienced, retired but never tired broadcaster.
The Farmer Governor prays that Allah will make Aljannah Firdausi the final abode of the deceased and comfort his entire family and all those affected by the death of Alh. Ahmed.
The late Alh. Ibrahim Ahmed, who served as the general manager of Radio Niger, Minna, between 1976 and 1980, had earlier begun his broadcasting career as an announcer/newscaster with the Broadcasting Company of Northern Nigeria (BCNN).
He also served as a producer, current affairs programme with Radio Television Kaduna, and became the news correspondent with the defunct Northwestern State and later rose to a controller of programmes, Radio Nigeria Kaduna.
The deceased also served as a member of the Board of Directors, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
He won several awards, including Best Radio Commentator FRCN Kaduna and the Veteran Merit Award, Niger State, among others.
