
KWASU VC Charges New Students’ Union Executive Council to Serve with Responsibility and Integrity
The 10th Students’ Union Executive Council was sworn-in on Monday, August 3, 2026, with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, charging the new leaders to serve with responsibility and integrity.
As monitored on the official Facebook page of the university on Wednesday,Professor Jimoh noted that for the first time, the Executive Council, the Student Representative Council (SRC) and the Judicial Council included a large number of females such that Mariam Kofoworola Onaolapo emerged as the Senate Leader of the SRC, and Boluwatife Omotola Onisola, who assumes office as Chief Justice of the Judicial Council, while 7 out of the executive council were also females.
The Vice-Chancellor also praised the outgoing 9th Students’ Union Executive Council, led by Raji Olamilekan Abdulsamad, for maintaining peace on campus and prioritising student welfare. He further commended the administration for laying the foundation of the new Students’ Union building, describing it as a major milestone.
In his inaugural address, the new Students’ Union President, Muhammad Habeebullah Gbolahan, pledged collaboration with the university management. He said the new executive team is ready to serve as a bridge between students and authorities through dialogue aimed at improving student welfare.
The newly inaugurated executive council includes Azeezah Omowumi Hadi as Vice President, Ilesha Baruba Campus, and Laura Omolere Oniha as Vice President, Malete Campus. Others are Ayilara Folashade Abibat, General Secretary; Olatunji Oladotun Isaac, Assistant General Secretary; and Rahmat Aduni Ibrahim, Financial Secretary.
Also sworn in were Jamiu Ibrahim Tanimola as Public Relations Officer; Kewulere Mustapha Aderayo, Welfare Director; Salati Abubakar Olajide, Assistant Welfare Director, Malete Campus; Habiba Musa Idris, Assistant Welfare Director, Ilesha Baruba Campus; Akanbi Samiat Mopelolaoluwa, Social Director; Davies Oyinkansola Lateefat, Assistant Social Director; Ali Muhammad Awodi, Sports Director; and Raji Kehinde Osasola, Assistant Sports Director.
In his remarks, outgoing President Raji Olamilekan Abdulsamad reflected on his administration’s achievements and urged the new leadership to remain humble, accountable, and committed to the collective interest of all students.
