Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is currently battling Stage 4 cancer, and his family has made an urgent public appeal for medical assistance.
In a statement shared by his daughter on behalf of the family, they said they are not seeking financial donations, but rather credible information that could help in Ogogo’s treatment and care.
“My dad is currently battling Stage 4 cancer, and my family urgently needs help, but not financially,” the statement read.
“Please, if anyone knows of a qualified cancer specialist, hospital, treatment centre, or any legitimate medical treatment that can help him, kindly reach out to us.”
The family added that they are also open to “safe and medically responsible traditional or complementary options” that can support his care alongside orthodox treatment.
Taiwo Hassan is one of Nollywood’s most respected actors, with decades of work in Yoruba and English films. He is widely known for roles that made him a household name across Nigeria.
The appeal has drawn prayers and concern from fans, colleagues, and members of the public who have followed Ogogo’s career over the years.
The family urged anyone with useful information on oncologists, cancer hospitals, or treatment centres in Nigeria or abroad to contact them directly. They emphasized the need for verified, professional medical support.
For now, friends, fans and well-wishers have taken to social media to offer prayers and share the appeal in hopes of connecting the family with the right medical help.
Note to the public: The family has requested that only legitimate, medically responsible contacts be shared. Any organization or individual with credible referrals can reach out to the family directly.
