*EMIR OF ILORIN TO TURBAN GOV. ABDULRAZAQ AS SARDAUNA OF ILORIN, SEPT. 16

Arrangements have been concluded for the turbaning of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on Wednesday 16th September 2026.
The turbaning ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin, by 10:00am prompt.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Emir’s Spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that the historic event is expected to be attended by dignitaries including government officials, captains of industries, traditional rulers both from within and outside the state.
The titled was conferred on Governor AbdulRazaq who is also tbe Chairman Nigeria’s Governors Forum, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, commitment to peace, unity, and the remarkable developmental strides recorded across Kwara State under his administration.
The Emir however has directed that the occasion be used to offer special prayers for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria at large.
“Members of the public, government functionaries, traditional title holders, religious leaders, and well-wishers are cordially invited to witness the historic ceremony”, the Emir added.
