
IEYDA Sympathises With Four Kwara Journalists Injured in Road Accident
Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, has expressed its heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with four Kwara based journalists who sustained injuries in a road accident while travelling to Alapa in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State for an official assignment.
In a statement jointly signed by the National President, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, described the incident as unfortunate and expressed gratitude to Allah for preserving the lives of the journalists.
The affected journalists are Aiyelabegan Babatunde Abdulrasaq CEO of Just Event Online Publications (JEO), Saheed Tijjani of 9jaParrot, Umar Umar of Trove Online Media, and Isiaka Sulayman Kayode of Trove Online Media.
The accident occurred at Adabata Efue along Alapa route when the Toyota Sienna of the JustEvent conveyed the journalists was involved in a Road crash. The victims were subsequently taken to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Ilorin, where they received medical attention.
The association appreciated all stakeholders, organisations and individual who have shown concern and offered support to the affected journalists.
IEYDA thanked Allah for preserving their lives and prayed for their speedy and complete recovery.
The association further appealed to philanthropists, corporate organisations, media stakeholders and other well meaning individuals to support the affected journalists, particularly towards damaged instruments, vehicle and replacement of other belongings lost or damaged in the accident.
IEYDA wishes the four journalists a quick recovery and reassures them of its solidarity and support during this difficult period.
