Shettima Launches Nigerian Youth Academy

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima has launched the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA).

The event which took place at Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in a brief ceremony according to the Vice President.

He said NIYA will focus on three critical areas: education and skills development, economic empowerment, leadership and civic engagement.

In his words, ” I affirmed the current administration’s resolve to equip Nigerian Youths with the required skills that would enable them to compete effectively as key players on the global stage. “

Shettima disclosed that the areas of priority for the government include world -class training in digital literacy, technical skills, entrepreneurship, and the creative industries.

The Vice President said he represented president Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event , and explained that as a peculiar nation with a median age of 17 years, Nigeria is one of the youngest populations in the world
