The Alege Royal Family of Ilorin has publicly disassociated itself from one Abdulrahman Mohammed Bello suspected to have murdered Hafsoh Yetunde Lawal in Ilorin.

In a statement signed by the Daudu Fufu and Head of the Alege Royal Family, Alhaji Babatunde Muazu Alege, the family categorically denied any blood or ancestral ties with the accused.

The statement clarifies that “while a police officer mentioned “Ile Alege” during a video interview, this was only to describe a general location and does not indicate any familial connection. The accused person himself did not claim any association with the Alege family”.

The family further called on the owner of the Facebook page “Tadekun Tadekun” to retract the false claims and issue a live video clarification within 72 hours while failure to comply will result in legal action.

However, The Alege Royal Family reaffirmed its position in Ilorin and urged the public to disregard any misleading claims.

The full text of the two disclaimers read as follows:

Our attention has been drawn on videos, photos and online social media on family connection with a murderer and acclaimed Alfa Abdulrahman Olatunji Muhammad Bello Idi-Isin. The acclaimed fellow is not a member of Alege Royal Family either by blood or other means of connection.
Though, the accused person never mentioned that he’s from Ile Alege Isale koto in the video clip while being interviewed by the police but a police officer repeatedly mentioning ile alege isale koto as a described place around where he lives.

The entire Alege has no connection with Abdulrahman Olatunji Muhammad Bello Idi-Isin.

We implore the general public to disregard any claims or affiliations made by any people and to seek clarification from the family or reputable sources within the community.

Thank for your understanding and cooperation.

DISCLAIMER AND NOTICE TO THE OWNER OF THE FACEBOOK PAGE “TADEKUN TADEKUN” AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

It has come to our attention that a Facebook post by the account named “Tadekun Tadekun” has falsely associated Abdulrahman Mohammed Bello, the individual involved in the tragic incident with Hafsoh, with the Alege family of Ilorin. We categorically state that Abdulrahman Mohammed Bello is not a member of the Alege family, either by maternal or paternal lineage. Any claim suggesting otherwise is entirely false and misleading.

In the video interview, Abdulrahman Mohammed Bello never mentioned “Ile Alege.” It was the interviewer, suspected to be a police officer, who mentioned “Ile Alege” due to the prominence of our family in the community. This mention was merely to describe the area and does not imply any family connection.

We urge the owner of the Facebook page “Tadekun Tadekun” to immediately remove the post and issue a live video clarification within 72 hours, stating that Abdulrahman Mohammed Bello has no family ties with the Alege family. Failure to comply with this request will result in legal action.

The Alege family is a respected and royal family in Ilorin, and we will not tolerate any false associations that tarnish our reputation. We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Thank you.
