Senator Saliu Mustapha Clears Medical Bills for 11-Year-Old Rape Victim in Ilorin.

Senator Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development, has paid the medical bill for 11-year-old Abdulrahman Robiat, a young girl brutally raped in Ilorin on June 22, 2025.

The horrific incident occurred when Robiat was assaulted by her Madraza teacher, Muhammad Jamiu Musa, after being sent to his room to retrieve a plate following a class session.

“He grabbed me, pulled me to the wall, and forcibly removed my trousers. He tried to penetrate me, but after I pleaded, he stopped momentarily. As I tried to leave, he pulled me back and raped me. He threatened to harm me if I told anyone,” Robiat recounted.

The perpetrator has been remanded at correctional centre

Severely injured and bleeding heavily, Robiat was rushed to Abaniseloluwa Hospital in Aromaradu, Adeta, Ilorin, where she underwent emergency surgery. The procedure stabilized her condition, but her family was unable to afford the N712,000 hospital bill.

Just Event Online TV reports ,Mr. Kehinde Ibrahim Magaji, upon learning of the situation, reached out to stakeholders for assistance, SALIU MUSTAPHA Foundation, swiftly intervened, covering the full medical expenses to ensure Robiat’s continued care and recovery.

The foundation’s office confirmed the intervention, highlighting the senator’s dedication to supporting vulnerable constituents.

Robiat’s parents expressed deep gratitude, “We are deeply thankful for his kindness. May Allah continue to bless and guide him,” they said.
