DG NOA recommends digitisation for enhanced performance and accountability.
Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, is attending the Executive Programme on Integrated Performance, Accountability, and Digital Risk Management for Public Sector Leaders in Casablanca, Morocco.
Organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) and the Africa Development Studies Centre (ADSC), the training aims to boost digital governance, accountability, and citizen-focused service delivery in Nigeria.
In his address, Mallam Issa-Onilu highlighted NOA’s use of digital tools like the AI-powered CLHEEAN to provide citizens with real-time answers on government policies recommending it for enhanced performance and accountability.
The sessions were officially opened by Dr. D.I. Arabi, Director-General of BPSR, who said the programme supports President Tinubu’s eighth priority: promoting inclusiveness through key performance indicators.
The training featured insights from Moroccan expert Hasnaa Boutzil on citizen-focused reforms, merit, transparency, and demand-driven infrastructure. Participants analysed case studies using strategic frameworks such as the Balanced Scorecard, Strategy Maps, Logic Models, and the Theory of Change. Public sector representatives from NITDA, AMCOM, and the Ministry of Finance, alongside facilitators Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, Youssef Talabi, and Dr. Idahosa Osamhanze, contributed to discussions on improving performance and accountability in Nigeria’s public service.
