Dr Surajudeen Adewuyi Muhammad Usman:A Philantropist Without Borders

By AbdurRaheem Sa’ad Dembo anipr

To be a giver is a rare gift from the Almighty Allah. Not everyone that is rich or well -to -do would be willing to render help.So when you see a rich man who can give, then such an individual is highly favoured and gifted by our Creator.

Significantly, there are rich men who can give but only to their family members, which is encouraged by the tradition of prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). If you want to help start from your home, that is the standard, but that doesn’t stop one from assisting others. Then there are also rich men who would only help outsiders for validation while neglecting their families. That is highly discouraged by Islam. But there are rich men who are kind to their family, outsiders and even beyond their hometowns, that is the category where Dr Surajudeen Adewuyi Muhammad Usman belong.I praise Allah on his behalf.

There are three reasons that prompted me to come up with this piece for Alhaji Adewuyi.First, his 10 million naira recent donation to the IEDPU Kano branch during the launching of their multimillion naira project in Kano.Alhaji Adewuyi emerged as the highest donor at the event. He is from Offa in Kwara state yet donated to Ilorin indigenes in Kano. That is why I refer to him as a philanthropist without borders. He is not a politician but into real Estate business

Secondly,it is always inspiring to encourage those who are touching lives of downtrodden in the society positively. His level of philosophy for rendering help is far from segregation. That is a great quality

Thirdly, his Media Aide, Kamardeen Bamidele is a long time friend, because we both graduated from the department of mass communication, Bayero University Kano.He is a jolly good fellow who has been promoting his principal with all sense of professionalism, energy and alacrity.

Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said “Khairun Nas Ma Yanfau Nas”.The best among you is one who is beneficial to others. So what Dr Adewuyi is doing is in line with the directive from our master -Muhammad (SAW).He is building a lasting legacy that will be enduring for decades.

Most importantly, his philanthropic tentacle is usually inspiring as he gave out a car to his Media Aide on 31st October,2025 in recognition of his hard work, professionalism and loyalty.May Allah reward him for this.

Similarly,On 15th November,2025 he also gave out Toyota Corolla Car to Otunba Yoruba in Kano,Alhaji Yunus Olanrewaju, who is also from Kwara state.

Based on some of these philanthropic strides by Dr Adewuyi,I have to ask his Media Aide, about his philanthropic catalogue, but he said they were too numerous to mention,he reeled out some:

“Dr Surajudeen Adewuyi Muhammad Usman had sent numerous people to Hajj and Umrah. He has been consistently supporting many Islamic societies and organisations.During covid 19, numerous people benefited from a food bank, he established. He shares trailer load of rice annually during Ramadan.”

His Media Aide also revealed that many undergraduates have received scholarship from Dr Surajudeen, particularly those in law school

By way of conclusion, the words of one of the most influential Russian writers,Leo Tolstoy, comes to the mind:”the sole meaning of life is to serve humanity. No doubt,Dr Surajudeen Adewuyi Muhammad Usman is an embodiment of generosity, kindness and humanity.May Allah reward and bless him more in the service of Islam and humanity.
