FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO GREETS SGF, SEN. AKUME, ON HIS BIRTHDAY.
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has congratulated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, on his 72nd birthday on the 27th December, 2025.
In a birthday message on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the farmer governor, extolled the virtues of the celebrant, describing him as an astute administrator.
He observed that the SGF has been committed, diligent, and instrumental in ensuring the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are effectively implemented.
The farmer governor maintained that the SGF has demonstrated capacity and competence in the discharge of his duties and encourages him to sustain the tempo.
He said the selfless service of Sen. Akume to making Nigeria better and strengthening democracy is not a surprise, as he has a track record of public service from when he was in the Federal Civil Service, where he rose to the peak of his career.
The farmer governor further noted that the celebrant joined politics and became governor of Benue State for 8 years (1999-2007), after which he served as senator from 2007 to 2019 and as a minister from 2019 to 2023 before his appointment as the SGF in 2023.
He prayed for more fulfilling years for the septuagenarian, sound health and wisdom to continue with his selfless service to humanity.
