Issa-onilu identifies leadership groom as goal of NVC.
The Director General of the National Orientation Agency ( NOA ) has explained that part of the goals of the National Values Charter is to groom future leaders with appropriate values for their roles in society.
He spoke to a group known as Intercontinental leadership initiatives who visited him to Propose “Future Leadership Club” Partnership
For the ILI a collaborative partnership is an initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of Nigerian leaders.
While commending them for deploying their energy, time and resources, in advancing leadership development in Nigeria Issa-onilu explained that the agency will support the initiative.
During the meeting, Mallam Issa-Onilu highlighted NOA’s ongoing National Identity Project, which aligns closely with the objectives of the Future Leadership Club. He emphasised that the National Identity Project birthed the National Values Charter, a framework outlining mutual responsibilities between the Nigerian state and its citizens, known as the “7 for 7”.
The “7 for 7” concept comprises two key elements: the Nigeria Promise, which is the seven core responsibilities of Nigerian leader and the Citizens’ Code which is the seven obligations the citizens owes one another and the country.
In response, Prince Stafford J. Bisong, leader of the group conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the Director-General, expressing hope about the future of Nigeria and reaffirming ILI’s commitment to working closely with the NOA to promote good leadership development.
To seal the partnership, Prince Bisong extended the honour of Patron Chairman of the Future Leadership Club to the Director-General, a role which he graciously accepted.
