The Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, has sponsored a bill seeking to establish an equity fund for Nigerian women and youth.

The bill, titled Nigerian Women and Youth Enterprise Equity Fund Bill, 2025 (SB. 841), passed First Reading on the floor of the Senate during Wednesday’s plenary session.

In a post via his official Facebook page, Senator Mustapha described the development as a “significant milestone” in his ongoing advocacy for inclusive growth and national development.

He noted that the legislation will establish a sustainable funding framework to empower Nigerian women and youth by unlocking vital opportunities, fostering enterprise development, and driving inclusive economic growth nationwide.

The lawmaker added that the bill also aligns with the broader national objective of achieving a trillion-dollar economy by 2030, as envisioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Mustapha expressed a firm commitment to advancing policies that uplift the people and create a lasting transformative impact as the legislative process moves forward to the next stages.

Since assumption of office in 2023, Senator Mustapha has sponsored several impactful bills and motions. His performance has earned him recognition as one of the leading first-time lawmakers in the 10th National Assembly.
