
President Tinubu Appoints Senator Oloriegbe as NHIA Chairman
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as the Chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for an initial term of four years, effective March 11, 2025.
Dr. Oloriegbe, a former senator representing Kwara Central in the 9th National Assembly, previously served as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and the Joint National Assembly Committee on Health.
A medical professional, he holds a Master’s in Coaching and Consultation from the University of Oxford, UK, and HEC, Paris, as well as a Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a member of various medical associations, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the International Aids Society (IAS).
His appointment was announced by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on March 30, 2025.
