APC Disowns Viral Congress Timetable
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a document circulating on social media which purportedly outlines the party’s timetable and schedule of activities for its 2025 ward, local government, and state congresses.
The viral document, titled “Draft APC 2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities,” claimed that ward and local government congresses would hold on December 10 and 12, 2025, followed by state and zonal congresses, leading to a national convention slated for March 25–28, 2026.
However, in a statement on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the document as fake and unauthorized.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a ‘2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities’ widely circulating on social media. Our great party wishes to clarify that the purported schedule was neither made nor approved by the party and should be disregarded as fake news,” the statement read.
APC last conducted its congresses in 2021, while the national convention that produced Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore as national chairman and secretary, respectively, was held in March 2022.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the tenure of the current National Working Committee (NWC) and other party executives across various levels may be extended beyond the 2027 general elections.
