The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has described the entertainment industry as a major driver of creativity, employment, and economic growth, noting its expanding influence both locally and globally.

Speaking during a meeting with leaders of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria on Thursday, the minister praised the sector’s “vibrancy and economic relevance.”

TAMPAN, led by its President, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, had honoured Tunji-Ojo as the association’s Man of the Year during its last summit in December 2025.

The minister, in a post on his X handle on Friday, said his engagement with the association’s leadership at his office in Abuja followed a recent recognition of his work in public service.

He emphasised the importance of collaboration between government and creative industry stakeholders to strengthen national development.

Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the creative sector, noting its role in talent development and economic expansion.

He said, “Our entertainment industry stands unmatched; the dazzling crown jewel of Nigeria; bursting with unrivaled creativity, infectious laughter, soul-stirring drama, and economic fire that continues to conquer the globe as it brings endless delight to every home
