Dr. M. O. Ahmed Danfulani: A Legacy of Service in Public Health

Dr. M. O. Ahmed Danfulani’s leadership in Nigeria’s health sector is defined by vision, compassion, and results. He served with distinction as the *former Director of the FCT Health Insurance Scheme, Abuja, where he worked to expand access to affordable healthcare for residents of the Federal Capital Territory. Under his stewardship, the scheme made strides in enrolment, provider management, and creating systems that put patients first.

Before that, he led as Medical Director of Kuje General Hospital* and *Kubwa General Hospital. In both facilities, he was known for strengthening clinical services, improving staff welfare, and upgrading infrastructure so that everyday Nigerians could get quality care closer to home. His approach was hands-on — he didn’t just manage from the office. He walked the wards, listened to patients, and pushed his teams toward excellence.
