
FARMER GOV BAGO INSPECTS CHANCHAGA WATERWORKS FOR ON-THE-SPOT ASSESSMENT.
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has inspected the Chanchaga waterworks for an on-the-spot assessment of facilities.
In a statement on Monday by Bologi Ibrahim, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,the visit was in furtherance of his determination to end water shortages in the state, especially the state capital.
The farmer governor, who inspected key sections of the waterworks, interacted with the Commissioner for Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Farouk Umaru Audi; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Akilu Musa Kuta; and the Managing Director of the Niger State Water and Sewage Corporation (NISWASEC), Gimba Yisa, on the prevailing water shortage in the state.
He was emphatic about the ministry ensuring the menace of water scarcity in the state is addressed.
“The farmer governor had recently expressed his concern over the difficulties faced by citizens over the persistent water supply to residents.”the statement added
He appealed to residents to exercise patience as the government has put in place temporary measures to provide succour while efforts are on to overhaul the water system for effective and efficient water supply.
Commissioner for Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Farouk Umaru Audi, who attributed the water scarcity in the State to technical and operational challenges, said interventions are underway to addressing them.
