FOMWAN condemns murder of
Hafsoh Lawal, calls for prompt prosecution of culprits
The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Kwara State chapter, has described as cruel, inhuman and barbaric, the murder of Hafsoh Lawal by one Abdulrahman Muhammad Bello.
FOMWAN in a statement issued by the State Amirah, Hajia Nimotallah Labaika and the State Public Relations Officer, Prof Saudat Sallah Abdulbaqi, “act of the so-called Alfa which led to the murder of Hafsoh Lawal is highly condemnable”
The statement noted with displeasure that the gruesome murder of the graduate of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, is the height of crime against humanity that should be condemned by every sane mind.
FOMWAN called on the Police and the Judiciary to ensure diligent prosecution of Abdulrahman Muhammad Bello and other accomplices for allegedly eliminating and dismembering Hafsoh Lawal.
This, according to the statement, would not only ensure justice in the case, but also serve as a deterrent for others.
“As a leading Muslim Women Association in Nigeria, we condemn in its entirety the gruesome murder of Hafsoh Lawal and we demand for diligent and immediate prosecution of the culprits to ensure quick dispensation of justice and serve as deterrent for other criminal elements in our society.
“We sympathize with the family of the victim and pray Almighty Allah to give them strength to bear this huge loss”. The statement added.
