
IEDPU USA Commends Judiciary over the judgement on Hafsoh Lawal’s killer
The Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU) United States Branch has commended the judgement passed by the High Court sitting in Ilorin, in the case involving the tragic murder of Miss Hafsoh Lawal, a final -year student of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin.
This was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the publicity secretary of the union, Waziri Abdulrazaq Fulani, the group
welcomed the decision by sentencing Abdulrahman Idi-isin to death by hanging, which marked a pivotal moment in the pursuit of justice and affirmation of the sanctity of human life in our society.
The statement read,” We extend our deepest appreciation to the Kwara State Judiciary for their unwaivering commitment to justice, transparency, and fair hearing.The courage and clarity with which the Court handled this case reflect the integrity of our judicial system and its capacity to uphold the rule of law without fear or favour.We equally salute the prosecuting legal team for their resilience, professionalism, and dedication throughout the trial.”
IEDPU USA thanked His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his principled leadership and adherence to the rule of law.His administration’s non-interference in the judicial process is a testament to democratic maturity and respect for institutional independence.
The Union also thanked the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari for his fatherly role.

The group also appreciated all prominent sons and daughters of Ilorin who stood firmly for justice for Hafsoh Lawal saying their solidarity and moral courage have reaffirmed our shared values of justice, compassion, and communal responsibility.
The IEDPU USA therefore appealed respectfully to the Kwara state government to sign the death warrant by hanging on Abdulrahman Idi-isin as pronounced by the Court , adding that justice delayed is justice denied.
The Union commiserated with the parents of Hafsoh Lawal, Alhaji and Hajiya Ibrahim Adefalu saying they expressed their sympathies.The group admonished the family to accept the painful reality in good faith and prayed that Almighty Allah grants them comfort, protection, and guidance.
