IEYDA ICT Centre Concludes Documentation and Orientation Programme, Training Begins Tomorrow

Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has successfully concluded the documentation and orientation exercise for participants of its 11th Free ICT and Other Vocational Skill Acquisition Programme, with full training scheduled to commence tomorrow, Wednesday, 5th August 2026.

In a statement by the Association,the orientation programme featured remarks by the representative of the National President, President Emeritus, Alh. Abdullahi Babatunde Salau, who encouraged participants to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed throughout the programme. He reiterated the commitment of the National President, Alh. Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, to youth empowerment through quality ICT and vocational training.

During the orientation, each instructor gave an overview of their respective courses, explaining the objectives, training methodology, and expectations. The courses include Digital Marketing, Document Management, Digital Presentation, Graphics Design, Virtual Classroom, General Artificial Intelligence (GAI), CCTV Installation and Maintenance, and Computer Repair and Maintenance. Participants were also introduced to vocational skills such as Custard and Powdered Milk Production, Air Freshener, Perfume and Balm Production, Liquid Soap and Scouring Powder Making, as well as Mentorship and Career Guidance.

The facilitators include Mr. Abdulhakeem, Dr. Yahaya Quadri, Engr. Habeeb Sarumi, Mr. Abdulrazaq Jimba, Hajia Taofeeqat Sauta, and Mr. Abdulganiy, who all assured participants of practical, hands-on training throughout the programme.

During the orientation programme, participants democratically elected their class representatives to facilitate effective coordination throughout the training. Abdulrahman emerged as the Overall Male Class Representative, while Talatu was elected as the Overall Female Class Representative. The newly elected representatives appreciated the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work closely with the management and instructors to ensure discipline, effective communication, and the success of the programme.

In his remarks, the National Director of Publicity, Alh. Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, urged participants to strictly adhere to the programme’s code of conduct, maintain punctuality, respect their instructors and fellow participants, and demonstrate the discipline expected of ambassadors of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association. He emphasized that compliance with the rules and regulations would ensure a conducive learning environment and enable participants to derive maximum benefit from the training.

IEYDA expressed appreciation to all participants for their orderly conduct during the documentation and orientation exercises and wished them a rewarding learning experience as the training officially commences tomorrow
