Mudirul Markaz and Grand Mufty Feud:IEDPU United States Calls For Peaceful Resolution
The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) USA has expressed deep concern over the ongoing feud between Mudirul Markaz ,Sheikh Habibullah Adam El-Ilory and Grand Mufty Of Ilorin,Sheikh Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa.
This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday by the Media and Publicity Secretary of the IEDPU United States, Waziri Abdulrazaq Fulani.
The Union appealed to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR, the Executive Governor of Kwara State , Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other prominent Ilorin Indigenes for quick reconciliation
Part of the statement reads “Allah(SWT) commands believers to seek peace and reconciliation where there are conflicts , as stated in Quran 49:10 “The believers are but brothers , so make settlement between your brothers . And fear Allah that you may receive mercy “
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)emphasised the virtue of resolving disputes and maintaining unity ,he said “Shall I not inform you of something more
excellent in degree than fasting, prayer and charity ? It is reconciling people . Verily, discord is a shaver (destructive)”.Tirmidhi (2509)
IEDPU United States asserted that both scholars have made significant contributions to the Islamic teachings and the development of the Ilorin Emirate. The group believed that the dispute would be resolved through dialogue, mutual understanding and commitment to the greater good of the Ilorin Emirate and Muslim Ummah as a whole.
The Association admonished scholars regardless of class, ideology, group or the haqdah adhere to, to embrace the Islamic principles of peace and unity.
IEDPU USA believed that peace and Unity are crucial for the progress and development of our community, and urged the parties involved to embrace virtue of tolerance , love and reconciliation in the pursuit of friendly resolution. The union prayed for Allah’s guidance towards a harmonious and prosperous future
