Senator Oloriegbe Seeks Justice For Hafsoh Lawal, says We Must End this Evil
Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe who represented Kwara Central in the 9th Senate has sought justice for late Hafsoh Yetunde Lawal, who was murdered recently in Ilorin by one supposed Cleric.
He made this assertion on his official Facebook page on Monday evening and said he was deeply heartbroken and outraged by the gruesome and senseless murder of Hafsoh
Oloriegbe said it was not just a crime but an affront to everything we stand for as a people.
He commiserated with her family, especially her parents and siblings over the loss and prayed that Almighty Allah grants them the strength to bear this tragic loss, and grants Hafsoh eternal rest in aljannah firdaus.
According to him “We must speak up and act! This heinous crime is a wake-up call for all of us. Ilorin Emirate has always been known for its deep-rooted Islamic scholarship, spirituality, and moral uprightness. It is disheartening to see a few misguided individuals tarnish this legacy with their evil actions. As I have said before, precisely during the year 2021 edition of the annual conference of the IEDPU, some so-called clerics have abandoned the path of knowledge and piety for greed and wickedness. This must stop!
Justice must be served! I call on law enforcement agencies to not only ensure that the perpetrator faces the full weight of the law but also to fish out any accomplices who may have been involved. Let this serve as a strong warning that our society will not tolerate such barbaric acts.”
He urged citizens to stay vigilant, protect their children, educate their communities, and work together to rid our societies of these criminal elements. He stressed that we must not allow fear to silence us and we must demand justice, fight for a safer and morally upright community.
Oloriegbe prayed to Allah to protect us all from such tragedies.
