Kwara State University (KWASU) has successfully secured a N1 billion TETFund Special Intervention grant for the completion of its Library Annexe and has inaugurated a new 600-bed hostel to enhance on-campus accommodation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, made this announcement while welcoming staff and students to the start of the 2025/2026 academic session.

He explained that the new hostel, developed through a Public-Private Partnership with Rangeman Construction Limited, aims to increase residential options for students and improve their overall welfare.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor revealed plans to establish fully equipped smart classrooms across all faculties, including those located at the Osi and Ilesha-Baruba campuses, as part of KWASU’s digital transformation initiative.

According to Professor Jimoh, “these projects reflect the university’s commitment to creating a modern learning environment and providing students with access to world-class facilities”.

He emphasized that KWASU would continue to seek further partnerships and collaborations to enhance its infrastructure and maintain academic excellence.
